Summary

This guide will provide instructions on how to make the hurricane vase table centerpiece shown in the picture.

Instructions:

1
This guide will explain how to produce the hurricane vase table centerpiece shown. This centerpiece is simple to produce and does not require any specific skills or tools. First of all unpack all of the products. In the picture I have used a 30cm high glass hurricane vase, 30cm round mirror plate, purple sand, 21.5cm high pillar candle, purple table sprinkles and some cream feather butterflies.
2
First of all unpack the hurricane vase from its packaging. I always wash the vases before setting up a display, as sometimes a residue is left from the protective packaging. Warm soapy water is suitable for washing the vase.
3
Once you have the hurricane vase washed and dry, place it on top of the mirror plate. The mirror is the base of your display, and will provide delicate reflections of the table crystals and flickering candle.
4
Now that you have the base of the display setup, with hurricane vase sat on top, you can add some sand to the vase. The quantity that you add is up to personal preference, but the key point to remember is that the sand will support the candle, so there needs to be enough to hold it in place. You don't want the candle to tip sideways if you table is knocked.
5
Now that you have the sand in place, take the candle and place it into the center of the vase. Manoeuvre the candle in the sand until, it has a firm base. Don't light the candle yet, you should have someone light the candles just before you sit at the tables.
6
Now that you have the display centered on your table, we can add the table sprinkles and butterflies. Simple sprinkle the diamonds around the table, and across the mirror plate. Each 100 gram pack should be enough for 1 - 2 standard size tables, but ultimately it will depend on the size of the table.
7
The butterflies that I have used come attached to a wire. This is so they can easily be attached to floral arrangements, or bird cages. In this instance we do not require a wire, so it can be pulled out of the back of the butterfly. I have then rested the butterflies up against the base of the hurricane vase. The hurricane vase provides a support, allowing the butterflies to be displayed at an angle. If you are having trouble keeping them in place, you can fix them with a small piece of blu tak or glue.
