Fish Bowl Candy Display

Here we will explain how to make the simple fish bowl display shown in the picture. This is a great display and very easy to match to your colour theme, by changing the midelino stick and foil covered lollies.

First of all unpack all of the products. i will ignore the other accessories on the table shown in the picture and concentrate on the main centrepiece. For this I have used a 25cm round table mirror, fish bowl with an inner vase, white coloured stones, clear acrylic stones, a midelino stick, coloured table hearts and foil covered chocolate lollies.

As I always recommend when working with glassware, wash it first. The packaging that is used to protect it can often leave a residue on the glass. The vase can be washed with hot soapy water. Once the glass is dry its time to prepare the display.

Place the white stones in the base of the fish bowl. I have filled it to about a quarter full to leave space for the midelino stick. The white stones can be changed to a colour of your choice. I have chosen white here as it matches the place cards and other items on the table.

Next take a single midelino stick. I have matched the colour of this to the heart chocolate lollies and table diamonds. Again this is a product that is available in multiple colours, so can be changed to match your theme. Wrap the midelino stick around the inside of the vase. It should hold itself in place.

Now you can take the inner vase that has come with the fish bowl. Fill it to the top with the clear acrylic nuggets. Again the colour and type of filler that you use here is down to personal preference. The main thing that you have to consider is that it needs to hold the foil covered lollies in place, so don't use a water pearl.

Now place the inner vases into the fish bowl. We aren't going to place the lollies in yet, as it is easier to do this once the bowl is positioned on the table. So lets take the mirror and place this in position on the table. Now place the almost completed fish bowl on top of the mirror.

Now that the display is in place, you place the lollies in. This is simple enough and you just need to poke them into the top of the previously prepared inner vase.

The final step is to sprinkle the table hearts around the display. I have matched the table hearts to the lollies and the midelino stick. Again these can be matched to your colour scheme or swapped for table diamonds.
