Summary

A simple guide to making beautiful and creative birdcage centrepiece, this easy and foolproof guide will help you to create a stunningly unique arrangement that will last forever.

Instructions:

1

This process is quite simple, by following the instructions it is hassle free. This arrangement does not require any messy glue and if you make any mistakes then it can be undone easily and reworked making it foolproof. The first step is to collect all of your equipment; as well as your flowers, ribbon, cage, mirror plate and butterflies you will need scissors and pins. Place your birdcage on the table.

2

Cut the stems off some of your white snowball flowers, handle the flowers carefully as cutting off the stalks will make them more fragile. You will need about 4 or 5 flower heads to fill your cage. Open the cage door and place the cut flower heads at the bottom of the cage and arrange them so no stalks can be seen.

3

Use your cream Lisianthus to twist in and out of the cage bars around the door going up and around the cage in a spiral. Wrap your cerise Lisianthus around the cage base; you can also use your excess foliage from your snowballs to mix with the cerise Lisianthus around the cage base to make it look fuller. Remember your guests will be sitting all around the table and you need to consider how the decoration looks from all angles, so you may need to tweak your design as you turn your cage. Place the cage on your mirror plate before moving to the next stage.

4

Secure your Lisianthus flowers to the cage using 3mm magenta ribbon. Attach some green snowball flowers and pink snowballs onto your cage also using the ribbon. It helps if you weave the flower stems in between the bars of the cage before securing with ribbon as it fixes the flowers in position. When you are happy with the composition, work the remaining snowball flowers around your base, using pins to secure your flowers to the ribbon. It works best if you position your flowers in multiples of three. Make sure the ends of your ribbon are neatly trimmed to ensure a high quality finish, we have used contrasting magenta ribbon to accent the flower colours used.

5

Add a few roses, by removing the stalks carefully with scissors then secure by pinning ribbon to them and tie onto the cage, careful not to prick your fingers on any pins. You might want to tie some additional bows onto the cage to perfect the composition. Finish off with butterfly pins, slide them neatly amongst the flowers making sure to hide their wire.
